Sarnia Snowfest will be held in Downtown Sarnia in front of the AAG Art Gallery on Lochiel Street.
February 7, 8 & 9, 2014
SNOWFEST is celebrating it's 23rd year this February, and plans are under way for a truly wonderful winter event. This year’s event will take place in downtown Sarnia in front of the AAG Art Gallery on Lochiel Street.
A local feature for the
past twenty years at the Dow People Place in Centennial Park, this year
SNOWFEST is pleased to announce the winter event will be moving to the Cultural
District of Downtown Sarnia. The move will enable SNOWFEST to be a part of
First Friday, a monthly cultural showcase in the downtown core. We at SNOWFEST
are truly excited about the new partnership with First Friday.
SNOW, WOOD, ICE!!!
Sculptors will be traveling to Sarnia to
carve 8 foot columns of snow into works of art. Viewing starts Friday, February
7, 2014. Watching these sculptors create their masterpieces is truly a sight to
be seen.
There are many other family activities that take place during the weekend of Sarnia SNOWFEST. For starters, there are Ice Carving Demonstrations, where the artists use chainsaws and chisels to work their magic for the public. This year SNOWFEST will be incorporating the exceptional talent of some of North America’s Finest Chainsaw Artists doing speed carving competitions throughout the weekend. For the younger kids, we have the ever popular ice slide. Live Entertainment, hot drinks and snacks will be available...so be sure to mark Sarnia SNOWFEST down on your February 2014 calendar!
